"Idol's" Chris Sligh: Party Like a Not Star

Can't make it to Vegas or Miami to party on New Years with real celebs? Then how about a fun-filled night in Westerly, Rhode Island -- with one of your favorite "American Idol" wannabeens of yore?!

Season Six's curly-haired 29-year-old, ~~Sideshow Bob~~ Chris Sligh, will "headline" the alcohol-free First Night Westerly celebration, by singing at least one song at the local Y-M-C-A! Finally, an event safe for Jessica Sierra! As if Sligh weren't enough entertainment for one night, the party will also feature face painting, mimes and a karate demo. Everything in moderation, people.

Tickets cost $10 before December 25, but jump up to a whopping $14 after Christmas. It may not be the opening of an outlet mall, housing development or local balloon festival, but it's still a bargain!

33. I wish him well...he really is a nice guy and...he can sing.
Those who choose to "bash" him for his religion, weight and talent
are simply insecure and ignorant! It is people like this that are
most likely uneducated and have nothing better to do with their
time than find rotten things to type on the internet. Sad.

34. Not sure why Rhode Island is getting a bad rap for a good event. How many families need to be ripped apart by drunk driving before people will realize it's not worth it? Kudos to the event planner for getting a variety of family oriented events and performers for people to enjoy.... and live to remember.

37. Hey, why pick on RI? Why pick on Westerly! I lived in Westerly for 10 years, its a charming town, and First Night is fun, family friendly, community entertainment. Some great bands, actors have come out of RI!

42. Gosh, TMZ, this is a new low--even for you! What is wrong with an alcohol-free party? And anyone who watched AI season 6 knows that this guy can sing! Though I prefer to get quite drunk on New Year's Eves, with a responsible non-drinker watching my children, I appreciate the "family friendly" events out there. Maybe if we can't get a babysitter next year, we'll go to something like this...also, I appreciate the low cost. Not all of us make "bank" like the celebs you constantly harass and make money off of!!! (I'm not hatin' b/c I love TMZ, but let's keep it real.)

Either the BIG C will get you or the rest of the idiots will die in a drinking and drug binge or get killed in a car accident.

Way to go CHRIS! It's great seeing someone in the limelight not acting like the losers we see in Hollywood now.
